Humble beginnings

We welcome you to L'Anse.

We started L'Anse in 2018, naming it with the French word for 'cove' or 'bay', given our new home was a stone's throw away from the beautiful Tumby Bay.

A French café and croissanterie where gluten-free guests get the same care as everyone else at the table.

Gluten-free in Port Lincoln

Gluten-Free Dining in Port Lincoln, the French Way

French food is often linked to baguettes and croissants, but French cooking is just as much about eggs, butter, fresh produce and fine desserts. That is the idea behind our gluten-free menu in Port Lincoln: dishes built around flavour first, not simply "the version without bread".

Dishes that can be made gluten-free are marked GFO (gluten-free option) on our menu, and gluten-free bread can replace toast on any breakfast for $3. Our team is happy to explain what is in each plate.

If you have coeliac disease or a severe intolerance, please tell us when you order: our kitchen and bakery also handle wheat flour, so we can take extra care but cannot guarantee a gluten-free environment.

"Lovely little French cafe. Owner was super lovely. Food was tasty and the pancakes looked like a work of art! Coffee was great also! We came around 11am and a lot of the pastries were sold out and we managed to get the last serving of pancakes. So suggest going earlier if you want to try all the options."

"The perfection of the croissants and cafe took me straight back to a renowned Boulangerie in Dijon. To mix it up a bit i had a raspberry croissant which you would expect in a Pâtisserie. Do take the time to indulge as it is truly worth it. C'est absolument délicieux!"
